Information for Local Fraternities
A National Fraternity with a Local Feel
Introduction
The goal of any entrepreneur is expand his/her product to the next city, the entire state, and eventually, nation- or world- wide recognition. As a local Fraternity at your campus, you should feel no different. Friendship and Brotherhood is what you and your Brothers flaunt as your “product”. And as Alpha Delta Gamma flaunts this on a nationwide scale, we have that means for your local Chapter to do just that – expand your Brotherhood beyond the campus boundary lines.
The benefits of becoming National with Alpha Delta Gamma are beyond the financial prowess and the physical size of an organization. The benefits of becoming a part of ADG National revolve around Friendship and Brotherhood in some of the major cities of the United States: Chicago, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, Washington D.C. – just to name a few.
One of the unique items about Alpha Delt Chapters around the nation is that we pride ourselves on our individual chapters’ histories. Many of our chapters started just like you, a local group that was thinking of sharing their Brotherhood and Fraternal Experience beyond their own city.

Benefits to becoming a part of ADG National
Identity and Tradition
Brotherhood and Diversity are what make Alpha Delta Gamma what it is today. We are an eclectic group of individuals with True Brotherhood and Friendship as our common strength.
While the National Executive Council can stress unity in Chapter programming and methodology, characteristics that we do not suppress is Chapter uniqueness and local tradition. Unlike other National Fraternities, we are not strict to the point that all of our Colonies look and feel the same. Alpha Delta Gamma looks to attain the assistance of local Alumni, a Mother Chapter, and the National Government to create a melting pot of National and local traditions.
Your members joined for what your local Chapter believed in – Alpha Delta Gamma will not quell those beliefs and traditions if they match our calling to Brotherhood and Friendship.
National Insurance
With the ongoing negative and false perception of Fraternity life, it is clear that any individual associated with a Fraternal Organization should be financially insured for the sake of their personal future. More and more Universities and Colleges are demanding that Chapters attain and hold liability insurance.
Alpha Delta Gamma National provides that insurance to our Chapters at low, semesterly premiums.
One-time National Membership Fee
The corporate idealism of some of the other larger National Fraternities has clouded the purpose of Fraternalism. And while they can provide back the monies that are paid to them, by the chapters – to the chapters, in a minute form of aid, it does not match the priceless Brotherhood that Alpha Delta Gamma offers.
Therefore, Alpha Delta Gamma sees no purpose in rolling active membership dues. One payment accounts for a lifetime membership.
Advice and Experience
A National Fraternity, we have the experience of over 75 years behind us to effectively support Chapters. Even as our National Government is stocked with volunteers, they are still on-call to any active or alum that needs it. From education manuals, rush brochures, to one-on-one support directly from the Executive Officers of the Fraternity – Alpha Delta Gamma is committed to helping the local Chapter exist effectively.
Name Recognition and Uniqueness
Meeting a stranger and coincidentally mentioning that you are members of the same Fraternity is rare in and of itself. But with the limited number of Chapters in Alpha Delta Gamma’s rich history, to meet another Alpha Delt coincidentally means something more than a handshake to our members.
Again, our smaller size is our biggest attraction. A lesser number of Chapters accounts for a greater sense of uniqueness and an elevated level of attention. This allows for your Fraternity to be a lasting influence on your life. When we limit ourselves to just the local realm (or even when we are drowned in thousands and thousands of a larger Fraternity), it is easy to leave and forget. But the uniqueness of Alpha Delta Gamma and the closeness of the Fraternity on a nation-wide scale accounts for why being a part of this National is so special.
Annual leadership Conferences and National Conventions are not limited in attendance and in fact typically number less than 100 attendees – the perfect business and teamwork building environment. It is also easier to bond with your Brothers and have a name and a face for yourself and not just another number.

Summary
Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity feels strongly about attaining groups of local Chapters and making them National. Similar to a closer group of friends looking to start a Fraternity with recognition of Brotherhood and Friendship, local chapters have a slight advantage as an organization with an understanding of tradition and overall chapter protocol.
It is that reason why having locals becoming a part of the Alpha Delt family of chapters is ideal for our cause.
